The Mineral Value Monitoring Project (MVCMP) has extended online Mineral Production Reporting and Export Permit Application to Small Scale Miners, Mineral Peocessing Companies and Mineral Trading Permit Holders.
This development is contained in the notice released by MVCMP Communications Consultant Kunda Mwila recently.
The Mineral Value Monitoring Project (MVCMP) wishes announce that it will be conducting hands-on training for the Small Scale Mines, Mineral Processing Companies and Mineral Trading Permit Holders on the usage of Mineral Production Reporting and Export Permit Modules of the Mineral Output Statistical Evaluation System (MOSES).
The trainings will be held for Copperbelt in Kitwe, North-western in Solwezi and for Midlands entities in Lusaka on the following dates:
18th to 19th September, 2017, Sherbourne Hotel, Kitwe
20th to 21st September, 2017, Sherbourne Hotel, Kitwe
25th to 26th September, 2017, Royal Solwezi Hotel, Solwezi
5th to 6th October, 2017, Venue TBA
After the training, the participants will then be asked to prepare one (1) mineral production or trading report from 2016 in line with the requirements of the new reporting format.
The Government of the Republic of Zambia, through the Ministry of Finance tasked the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) to spearhead the implementation of the Mineral Value Chain Monitoring Project (MVCMP) whose objectives include:
• review the mechanisms for the monitoring of the mining and mineral value chain from exploration to exportation;
• develop and implement the mechanisms for monitoring and facilitating the movement of the minerals within and out of Zambia; and
• Institutionalize the framework in other Government Institutions and Agencies through effective change management.
The other leading institution in the implementation of MOSES is the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development (MMMD) as owner and user of the Mineral Production Monitoring System. The Mineral Production Monitoring Support Project funded by the European Union and housed in the Ministry of Mines is working jointly with the MVCMP to develop the system.
The MVCMP is USD10 million Project financed by the Norwegian Government, the Government of the Republic of Zambia and a Consortium of Donors managed by the World Bank.
